Merit scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students based on their previous academic success.

Traditional undergraduate students

Regents

  • Scholarships range between $10,000 - $11,000
  • GPA Range between 2.75-3.53
  • Eligibility is based on high school GPA 
  • Renewable while your cumulative GPA remains above 2.49

Presidential Scholarship

  • Scholarships range between $12,000 - $15,000
  • GPA Range between 3.54 - 4.0+
  • Eligibility is based on high school GPA 
  • Renewable while your cumulative GPA remains above 2.49

One-time review: the award can be reviewed for a possible increase, at the request of the student, if their cumulative GPA increases, and at least two semesters have been completed.

Transfer undergraduate students

Regents

  • Scholarships range between $7,000 - $9,000
  • GPA Range between 2.50-3.49
  • Eligibility is based on college GPA 
  • Renewable while your cumulative GPA remains above 2.49

Presidential Scholarship

  • Scholarship is $10,000
  • GPA Range between 3.50 - 4.0
  • Eligibility is based on college GPA 
  • Renewable while your cumulative GPA remains above 2.49

Church work scholarships 

Concordia has a multitude of programs that will prepare you with uncommon compassion, ethical conscience, and unparalleled skill.

Church work scholarship
  • Students is planning to major in Lutheran education, lay ministry or pastoral ministry
  • First-time, full-time freshmen eligible
  • Student is a member in good standing of a LCMS congregation
  • GPA must exceed 2.49
District application

The district application is available to students who are members of an . This is considered an outside scholarship.

  • Check your eligibility with your District
  • You must be pursuing a church-work major
  • General District Form - check with your District for any additional forms they might require
  • Once you complete the form, send it to our office (see address below) and we'll complete our part (we'll send it to the District for you)

Forward in Faith Lutheran Teacher Scholarship

The Forward in Faith Lutheran Teacher Scholarship is a $2,000 merit scholarship given to students who intend to enroll in the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Lutheran teaching program and eventually teach in a Lutheran school (LCMS).

Luther Scholar Guarantee

Undergraduates who are new freshman, who are planning to be LCMS pastors, and who declare a pre-seminary track are eligible to receive $20,000 in total Concordia insitutiontional aid.

Education scholarships

The education scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in an Education and/or Church work major. They are awarded to current Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ students. See the information below about each scholarship to see if you are eligible to apply.

Minority Teaching Scholarship

Minority students from a CAGC High School, who are interested in the field of Education, who attend Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ as a School of Education student, may apply for a $2,000 annual award; for up to 4 years, for a total of $8,000.

These scholarships are presented to LCMS church work students to honor Mrs. Erna A. Batterman and her unrealized dream to be a teacher.

Schjerven Christian Leadership Scholarship

These scholarships are presented by the Robert and Anita Schjerven Endowment to honor professional church work within the LCMS and support its continued legacy.

These scholarships are presented by the Lampert Foundation to support students pursuing their first teaching license.

Visual Arts Scholarship

Students who have shown an interest in an art-related field, either as a major or minor program of study, you may apply for an Visual Arts Scholarship.

Adopt-a-Student Scholarship

This is a partnership that, by God’s grace, matches students with a donor to help them overcome financial limitations. Financial aid is awarded based on carefully evaluated needs. The student is asked to provide updates of their Concordia experience to the donor throughout the academic year.

Concordia Grant
  • Award amount is up to $10,000 
  • Average award for 2023-2024 was $4,100. 
  • Eligibility for Traditional Undergraduate students is determined by cumulative GPA, housing status, likelihood of retention and financial need.
Luther Promise

$3,000 in Concordia aid for undergraduates of any Lutheran congregation or high school, or dependent of Concordia University System (CUS) alumni or children of rostered church workers.
